There’s plenty to craft in New World and, if you plan on using the Loom a whole lot, you’ll want to track down Hemp and Fiber locations. These plants and resources play heavily into early game crafting and you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a pair of good exploring boots when you set off to get them.
Fiber in New World comes from Hemp plants, which you can find in various locations out in the world. In order to harvest them you will, however, first need to craft and equip the appropriate tool which, in this case, happens to be the Sickle.
Once you’ve done so, you’ll want to go looking for Hemp and Fiber locations in Forest and Grassland regions on New World’s map. If you bring it up, the Resource Locations button on the left side of the screen brings up a legend. Using it, you’ll notice, when zoomed in, that the former are painted dark green and have drawings of small trees.
The latter are painted in a lighter shade of green (or darker shade of yellow) with stylized grass drawn on them. Roaming around these types of regions will eventually see you reaching Hemp locations. These are tall plants that can easily be identified by their purple caps. Harvesting them is as easy as pressing the E key with the Sickle equipped and yields Fiber once the animation finishes.
The best way to find Hemp and Fiber locations in New World is to open up the map and look for Forest and Grassland regions as you move between areas. If you can’t seem to find the plants, it’s possible that other players have harvested them, so you may either want to move on to a different region or be patient until they respawn.
