At the Tokyo Games Show 2023, Square Enix announced the upcoming release of Octopath Traveler 2 for the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in early 2024. This game was initially launched in February 2023 for the PC, PlayStation 5, and PS4.
ACQUIRE Corp., the same team behind the original, has seen both games achieve a collective sales figure of over four million copies worldwide. Players can expect to lead eight distinct protagonists on their journeys, navigating the landscape and confronting enemies in strategic turn-based battles, showcasing the unique retro 2D characters in a 3D environment.
Octopath Traveler 2 Release Date on Xbox
Octopath Traveler 2 will be released on Xbox and Windows PC in early 2024. It is currently available for purchase on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PS4, and PC via Steam.
What sets Octopath Traveler 2 apart from the original release? Players can now seamlessly switch between day and night, altering the appearance of towns and their inhabitants. Depending on the time of day, Path Actions will also change, offering more profound exploration opportunities.
This installment introduces a narrative centered around two travelers journeying together. Each traveler has a distinct latent ability that can shift battle momentum. Furthermore, players can now navigate rivers using canoes or embark on sea voyages with large ships to explore every nook and cranny of the realm.
Publisher Square Enix didn’t provide an exact release date for Octopath Traveler 2 on Xbox platforms, other than the mentioned early 2024 release, but we will keep you updated once we know more.
