Thanks to the Overwatch 2 roadmap, players can finally get an insight into what kind of content they can expect in the upcoming months. Season 5, for starters, will feature a magical theme and returning Summer Games event. Meanwhile, Season 6 will introduce an all-new support hero and story missions, which players can look forward to.
But what happens after that? Fortunately, we’ve been blessed to know what’s in the works for Overwatch 2’s Season 7 and beyond. It will be a while before it gets released, but if you’re curious, here’s when Overwatch 2 Season 7 might drop.
Overwatch 2 Season 7 Release Date
Blizzard has yet to give a specific date for the launch of Overwatch 2 Season 7, but we do know that it’s scheduled for sometime in late 2023. If there’s one thing that all Overwatch 2 seasons have in common, they generally have a nine-week interval between each other.
So, given the prediction of Season 6’s release date, we can assume that Overwatch 2 Season 7 will be released on October 15, 2023. That is, if all goes well. Keep in mind that this is just a speculation which can be subject to change.
As for what the new season will bring, Blizzard has promised to introduce players to a plethora of new content that will no doubt keep players occupied. Below is a list of what’s in for the Season 7 roadmap and beyond.
- New Tank Hero
- New Collaboration Event (Limited Time Mode)
- New Control Map
- New Winter Event
- New Hero Mastery Missions (Multiplayer)
- Roadhog Rework
- Fan Favorite Modes Return
- Cinematic Debuts
- Competitive Mystery Heroes Returns
- Lore Codex
- Sombra Rework
Ones that particularly stood out from these are the Roadhog and Sombra rework and the introduction of a new tank hero. As with any other rework, these could potentially shake the meta, forcing players to adapt to new team comps if they want to climb. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for the official release date of Overwatch 2 Season 7 while you enjoy the upcoming seasons.
