Overwatch 2 herlads a new era for Blizzard’s hero shooter but, whether you’re a veteran or just now jumping into the free-to-play game, keeping track of the game’s server status and when maintenance might take it offline is something you’ll certainly want to do.
The reason for that is simple. If Overwatch 2’s server status happens to be offline, you won’t be able to log in and play. As it’s an online game, we may also see maintenance occurring more or less regularly, and it’s never fun to set time aside, only to learn that you won’t be able to hone your skills with your newly unlocked hero.

Overwatch 2’s servers are currently online, but some players are encountering queues or having trouble logging in.

Online game releases can be quite rocky, as people rush to the servers to try out revamped and new features, and Overwatch 2's were also hit by a DDoS attack as the game went live.
The developer is making progress on solving these issues and ensuring stability, although a second DDoS attack has also occurred in the meantime.
Things might continue to be rocky for a while around the game's launch but with a bit of patience, everyone should eventually be able to get in.
We'll keep you updated on the Overwatch 2 server status, but it's a good idea to also keep track of the official US and EU maintenance pages, as news of downtime is also shared there.
