Path of Exile 2’s character classes are the backbone of the ARPG sequel, determining where we start on its massive passive skill tree alongside the playstyles that we can more easily tap into.
PoE 2 is confirmed to launch with a total of 12 classes. Each of them focuses on one attribute or a pair of them while allowing us to have the likes of a shapeshifting Druid to spell-flinging Sorceresses as our avatars during our time in Wraeclast.
Path of Exile 2 Classes
In addition to the 12 starter classes, each pick will have three Ascendancy classes to specialize into, making certain aspects of their skillset particularly powerful.
PoE 2’s classes feature a blend of new and old names. Six of them return from the original title, six are new kinds of combatants that we can control for the very first time.
Here are the names of those revealed so far alongside their dedicated attributes.
- Warrior
- Druid (Strength/Intelligence)
- Templar (Strength/Intelligence)
- Sorceress (Intelligence)
- Witch (Intelligence)
- Huntress (Dexterity)
- Ranger (Dexterity)
- Monk (Dexterity/Intelligence)
- Shadow (Dexterity/Intelligence)
The quest rewards offered by characters after we complete their assigned tasks are tailored to the respective class.
That being said, the sequel promises plenty of freedom in terms of building characters and mixing and matching skills.
