How many people can play Phasmophobia? If you are setting up a ghost-hunting session of Phasmophobia with your friends, you might be left wondering about the maximum number of players allowed during ghost hunts on the game’s maps.
Currently, Phasmophobia allows a maximum group size of four players. However, could this limit potentially increase with the launch of the console versions scheduled for 29th October?
Unfortunately, we asked this question during a recent Press Event for the Halloween Update, but there are no plans to open it up to more than four players, says Kinetic Games.
UPDATED: We changed this page and improved it on 23 October, 2024 to reflect more accurate information.
What's the Max Players for Phasmophobia?
Phasmophobia currently supports four players across all map types. The introduction of crossplay support on the 29th of October will make it even easier to play with friends across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
- How many people can play Phasmophobia: Four Players in Co-op
Although the majority of Phasmophobia’s maps are designed for four-player teams, some, specifically Sunny Meadows and the Prison, seem spacious enough to support larger groups. In our view, these maps could comfortably accommodate up to six players, so maybe this is something Kinetic Games will look at in the future.
The latest 2023/2024 roadmap for Phasmophobia, as shown above, does not mention any plans to increase player support. Instead, the development efforts are concentrated on introducing new player models and customization options. Bleasdale Farmhouse and Grafton Farmhouse will see reworks, hopefully this year.
Should Kinetic Games announce any intentions to change the player count for Phasmophobia, we will be sure to let you know and update this article.
