Building a zoo and caring for its various denizens are the main draws of Planet Zoo. Another would be its connected nature that has you building a franchise and sharing habitats and zoos with fellow players, but can you visit other players’ zoos to see them for yourself?
The answer to whether or not you can visit other players’ zoos in Planet Zoo is both yes and no. Or, rather, yes, but in a very specific sense. Let us explain.
Planet Zoo Visiting Other Players' Zoos
When you first start Planet Zoo, you’re asked to create an avatar. While there aren’t all that many customization options available, that avatar represents you in Planet Zoo’s world of interconnected zoos. It’s this avatar that will be visiting other players’ zoos.
In order for this to happen, you’ll need to enter Franchise Mode and make your own franchise. Once you’ve done so, you should spot an Edit button on the left, next to the franchise’s name. Click it and look below for the Visiting Status button.
Turning visiting on then allows both your avatar to visit other zoos but also other players’ avatars to come see yours. You won’t, however, be able to visit other zoos in person, unless you download them from the Steam Workshop.
There’s also the option of visiting other players’ zoos anonymously, so as not to share your own zoo’s identity. While you can’t visit other players’ zoos yourself in Planet Zoo, greeting a visiting avatar is one way in which you can earn Conservation Points.
You usually get a notification when another player’s avatar visits your zoo.
