Publisher and developer Foresight Games has shared a first look at its debut title, Project Haven, a post-apocalpytic turn-based tactics title that features a mature, gritty story.
Project Haven follows a mercenary outfit known as the Steel Dragons who battle for survival as they uncover dark truth within Haven City, the last hub that still hosts life following an apocalyptic event that’s turned most of the planet barren.
Project Haven Announced
At a glance, Project Haven’s XCOM-inspired combat looks familiar, however, the title does attempt to spice things up with the addition of a few specific elements.
The most obvious way is found in how you can take control of characters about to take a shot and use free aiming to determine which point of an opponent’s body the shot should target.
On top of its mature, gritty story, which reveals rampant inequality between citizens the further you go from Haven City’s core, Project Haven will also feature a couple of RPG elements.
The characters in your party have their own personalities and opinions. The more combat they end up seeing, the more you’ll be able to enhance their abilities.
Project Haven’s combat emphasizes cover, however, a concrete wall can be demolished with the proper tools, damaging anyone on the other side.
You can get a glimpse of the title in action in its announcement trailer below. Project Haven is headed to PC, via Steam, and does not currently have a release date.
