Rainbow Six Extraction is the latest entry in Ubisoft’s storied series, carrying over the concept of operators from Siege but shifting focus from PvP multiplayer to a PvE co-op experience. With its release date locked down to the latter part of January, fans looking for something fresh are likely wondering about whether or not the game is coming to Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart in 2021.
Rainbow Six Extraction pits up to three players against misshapen monstrosities infected with the Chimera parasite. You take your customizable React operator and delve into 12 containment zones across the US, teamwork being vital as you’ll always find yourself outnumbered. But its level of authenticity is just one draw for potential Xbox and PC Game Pass subscribers.
13 mission types, 90 weapons and gadgets, as well as 18 customizable Operators and a deep progression system further sweeten the deal, while free post-launch content acts as the cherry on top. While this sounds like quite the offering for any co-op shooter enthusiast, those who many be on the fence or would rather not go for a traditional purchase also have good news coming their way.
Publisher Ubisoft has confirmed that Rainbow Six Extraction will arrive on both PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as soon as it launches on January 20. Better yet, it will be accompanied by Rainbow Six Siege and playing both earns you gear from the United Front Bundle.
Rainbow Six Extraction coming to Xbox and PC Game Pass is also just a first step for publisher Ubisoft. The company has confirmed that it will bring its Ubisoft+ subscription service to Microsoft’s consoles, although we don’t know yet if it will involve a separate purchase or be part of Game Pass, in a similar way to EA Play.
Rainbow Six Extraction is due out on January 20 and headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
