Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to launch in a few days on PC and its online component is likely to draw much attention. Sadly, if you planned to transfer your characters over from PS4 or Xbox One, that won’t be possible.
As website Polygon points out in its preview, unlike Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Online will not support character transfers between PC and consoles. This means that players will have to start over from scratch should they move over.
Red Dead Online Character Transfer PC Consoles
While Red Dead Online won’t allow character transfers between PC and consoles, it will launch on PC with all the updates received by its console counterparts. This includes September’s Frontier Pursuits.
After Red Dead Online’s PC launch, the updates will launch simultaneously on all three platforms.
Just like character transfers, Red Dead Online will also not feature support for cross-play between PC and consoles. Pre-loading for Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on the Rockstar Games Launcher.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is headed to PC on November 5 via the Rockstar Games Launcher and Epic Games Store. It will then arrive on Steam at some point in December.
