“It is not by my hand that I am once again given flesh”. It’s not a miserable pile of secrets anymore, Dracula and Trevor Belmont are coming to the fog. Yes, on the 27th of August, you can play as both of them in Dead by Daylight.
You can test them out now on Steam’s public test build if you wish.
The Castlevania franchise is iconic, having been pivotal in helping to pioneer the horror genre that captivates so many today. Its origins trace back to the early days of video game consoles, notably the NES in 1987. It has games on pretty much all platforms.
Dead by Daylight's Castlevania Chapter Release Date
Dracula is joining the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game as its new killer, while Vampire Hunter Trevor Belmont will join Dead by Daylight as its latest survivor, who first appeared in the franchise back in 1989’s Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse. Both will officially be released on the 27th of August with the start of the Castlevania Chapter.
Public Test Realm: 6th August, 2024 Castlevania Chapter Official Launch: 27th August, 2024
Dracula thinks humanity is a cesspit of hatred and lies, so naturally, his dark powers can be used to exact revenge on humans, taking three different forms each with their unique strengths and abilities.
- Vampire Form - In his default state, The Dark Lord can use the powerful Hellfire spell, which creates pillars of flame that travel ahead of him and can be cast across low obstacles.
- Wolf Form - In Wolf Form, The Dark Lord has access to several abilities that allow for more effective tracking. Movement speed is increased, blood pools and scratch marks are more apparent, and Survivors leave a trail of Scent Orbs behind them. The Dark Lord can collect these Scent Orbs to charge a powerful Pounce attack.
- Bat Form - While in Bat Form, The Dark Lord gains the Undetectable status effect. Additionally, he moves faster, ignores vault points, and can Teleport to any vault points within 32 meters. Survivors become invisible, but scratch marks can be seen.
Dracula's Killer Perks in Dead by Daylight
Dracula’s parks are Wretched Fate, which randomly changes a dull totem to a hex totem and curses the Obsession after a generator has been repaired. This effect persists until the Hex totem is cleansed.
Human Greed allows Dracula to see Unopened Chests auras and Survivor auras are revealed for 3 seconds when someone is within an 8-meter range. You can kick chests to close them, but know that Survivors unlock these closed chests 50% faster.
Dominance makes it so that the first time each totem or chest is interacted with by a Survivor, that totem or chest is blocked by the Entity for 4/6/8 seconds. The auras of blocked totems and chests are revealed to the player in white.
Dracula’s castle will be visible in the sky on any of Dead by Daylight’s original Maps if Dracula is playing as the killer in any multiplayer matches. His home is never far.
How does Trevor Belmont survive in Dead by Daylight?
No love for Rictor, Simon, or Alucard it seems, but perhaps Trevor will get some skins for them? Let’s take a look at this Perks…
The Eyes of Belmont will give Trevor Belmont the power to reveal the killer’s aura for 1/2/3 seconds when a generator is completed. Any time the Killer’s aura is shown for a while, its duration is increased by 2 seconds.
Exultation upgrades a held item rarity to the next tier, then it recharges 25% of the item’s maximum charges, whenever a Killer is stunned with a pallet. This perk has a 40/35/30-second cooldown.
Moment of Glory is activated when you open or rummage through 2 chests. Belmont will automatically heal 1 health state after 80/70/60 seconds, but the effect is cancelled if you enter the dying state.

“We wanted to create a fluidity in the way players can have Dracula change between his different forms and have it feel seamless,” shares Dead by Daylight Creative Director, Dave Richard in a press release sent to GameWatcher. “When I first played Symphony of the Night – which is one of my favorite games of all time – having vampiric powers like these was absolutely amazing. Being able to put players in the shoes of The Dark Lord in Dead by Daylight was an alluring and unique opportunity for us.”
Dead by Daylight is available for a discounted price of £5.99 for the next few days on Steam.
