Publisher and developer Capcom has announced the release date for Resident Evil 4 Remake’s The Mercenaries game mode.
Resident Evil 4 Remake The Mercenaries’ release date is currently slated to occur on April 7, precisely two weeks after the full game’s official launch, which means it’s available from now.

The announcement was made at the end of the survival horror game’s launch trailer, which also reveals that the mode will be added as a free DLC available to all owners of RE4 Remake.

Capcom didn’t share specific details about how the modern incarnation of the game mode will play, but it’s probably safe to expect that it will stick closely to how the original did things.
Datamining (via Resident Evil Central) has now given us a look at what could be descriptions of playable characters and their Mayhem mode abilities, four available maps, alongside a handful of costumes different characters can equip.
Resident Evil 4’s The Mercenaries mode offered an arcade-inspired slice of action which tasked you with eliminating as many Ganados as you could before a timer ran out or you died.
Item pickups provided additional ammo as well as time extensions, allowing you to reach a higher score.
Given how the remake itself turned out great, there’s a good chance the optional mode will also be fun to play through.
