As you guide Ethan through the beautiful halls of Castle Dimitrescu, you’ll eventually reach the Hall of Ablution. Here, you’ll find one of Resident Evil Village’s mandatory puzzles. Its solution involves rotating four statues so that they all face in a certain direction. If you’d rather spend your time sampling the local scares, read on below and we’ll help you easily get past it.
Even before seeing its name marked on your in-game map, the Hall of Ablution stands out thanks to the circular pool of blood sitting right in its middle. Around it, you’ll see four statues that you’ll need to interact with in order to get to the solution of this Resident Evil Village puzzle.
If you head forward just as you enter, you’ll find a plaque on the wall that reads as follows: “Women are blind to male advances, but the poor shall take their chances to give their lord their bounty sown, so that soon the wine may flow.” This is a very useful clue that indicates the correct positions of the four statues.
To keep it simple, you’ll want to have the statues of the two ladies facing each other. The three men should face the horse rider while the horse rider should face the robed lady. This will drain the blood in the pool, revealing a set of stairs that let you explore a new part of the castle.
That’s it for the Hall of Ablution puzzle solution in Resident Evil Village. This is far from the most difficult obstacle in the series, as each statue only has two directions it can face, but can still take up a bit of time, which could otherwise be spent exploring the rest of the castle.
