Why did Psyonix remove the Rocket League Jurassic Park Jeep? Why is the DLC car no longer available for player to buy?
Rocket League’s Jurassic Jeep Wrangler was one of several licensed cars added as Premium DLC to Psyonix’s popular vehicular soccer game.
Released back in June 2018, the Jurassic Park Jeep was later removed from Rocket League on December 4, 2019, when patch 1.70 launched introducing game’s new Item Shop.

“Following next month’s update, all Premium DLC Packs will no longer be available for purchase. If you already own any items from the DLC Packs, you will still have those items in your inventory. Items from Premium DLC Packs may return for individual sale in the Item Shop at a later date.” reads a post from November 2019.
It’s worth keeping in mind that Psyonix removed the Rocket League Jurassic Jeep Wrangler after it was acquired by Epic Games.
As the reasons behind the removal were not explained, we’re led to believe that the acquisiton led to the licensing deals that allowed the cars to exist in the first place being dropped.
After Rocket League went free-to-play on September 23, 2020, players with legacy status – who had played the game prior to the free-to-play release and its move to the Epic Games Store – received the Rocket League-branded DLC cars for free.
The licensed DLC cars, like the Jurassic Park Jeep, haven’t made a return since their removal until October 21, 2020, when the Ghostbusters-themed Ecto-1 DLC car became briefly available for purchase in the item shop, as part of the game’s 2020 Halloween event.
Developer Psyonix said in a post that it is “looking into bringing previous licensed cars back too”.
