SCUM is a fairly revolutionary game in its own right, to be sure, but it's no secret that it's pretty far from being a full, polished product (if it's ever even destined to become one). As it stands, though, SCUM is getting updates, and it's getting them often, and here you'll have the chance to check them out.
To competently illustrate the content of these updates, at the time of writing, the latest one introduced the ability to harvest human skin and fashion it into a leather face mask that Hannibal Lecter himself wouldn't mind wearing. Fun stuff!
SCUM Update 0.1.17.9119 (28th of September, 2018)
This update's most prominent addition is definitely the ability to fashion human skin into a mask that's the stuff of nightmares. Also added are various crudely-crafted weapons, such as the single-shot 12-gauge, or the .50 pistol that you can now craft out of raw materials. Developers have also added no less than 30 new caves, and new high-end military drops, such as the night-vision goggles.
Also important is the game's vastly-improved long-range LOD model, which will now allow for a more realistic rendition of long-distance terrain viewing, at the cost of performance if you're running the game at high graphics settings.

SCUM Update 0.1.16.8263 (29th of August, 2018)
This update has included various server optimisations, improved upon the game's bird audio, fixed various landscaping bugs, introduced the ability to commit suicide (for those moments when you know you've done goofed it up), and more.
Developers seemed particularly proud about removing the ability to eat eggs an infinite amount of times, so make of that what you will. A more comprehensive review of Update 0.1.16.8329 can be found on Game Watcher, while the full changelog is available via SCUM's Steam Discussions page.
