Now Sonic Frontiers has settled into its post-launch state, Sega has outlined what more we will be getting from the game with the announcement of three future updates, shown within its 2023 roadmap.
In this roadmap, the first update is set to arrive in 2023 and brings a Photo Mode, new challenges, and a jukebox function. The second update will bring new Kuco, Open Zone Challenges, and a Sonic Birthday celebration.

The third update is arguably the biggest of the lot though, as it will feature more playable characters including Tails and Knuckles, as well as a new story.
In the first month of Sonic Frontiers’ life, it already had free Monster Hunter costume DLC, and Sega has revealed these future updates will also be free.
Sega isn’t quite done yet with the Sonic bonuses for 2022. From December 21, a festive Holiday Cheer costume will be free to download for Sonic Frontiers, which you can see Sonic wearing in the image above.
Details on the exact release timing and specifics about the content of each update will be revealed at a later date, but we’ll keep you updated on any developments.
