Silent Hill: The Short Message was initially conceived as a proof of concept and pitch for the creation of a Silent Hill 2 Remake. However, HexaDrive didn’t end up being assigned to its development; instead, they undertook the development of “Short Message.” Meanwhile, Blooper Team took on the responsibility of crafting the remake of “Silent Hill 2”.
You might be wondering if there is going to be a PC release for Silent Hill: The Short Message. Konami has stated that it is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and is currently available on the PlayStation Store as a free-to-play title.
Is Silent Hill: The Short Message going to be available on PC?
We haven’t received any official information regarding availability on platforms beyond the PlayStation 5, and Konami has probably entered into an exclusivity agreement with Sony, making it exclusive to the PS5 for an unknown period.
Should anything change over the year we will update you and let you know what platforms it’s going to be released for.
Silent Hill: The Short Message stands alone as a title unconnected to any other games in the franchise. After receiving messages from her friend Maya, Anita arrives at a crumbling apartment block infamous for its eerie tales of suicides.
Driven by an irresistible urge to enter, Anita’s grasp on reality starts to disintegrate as she confronts surreal, otherworldly dimensions, haunted by a malevolent presence.
“This is the first SILENT HILL title we are bringing you as part of the wider series revival. It deals with serious modern-day issues such as social media, bullying, and suicide, and concentrates the essence of the series — the feeling of being psychologically hemmed in and cornered — into a short window.” said Silent Hill Series Producer, Motoi Okamoto.
“We hope that a new generation of players who are new to SILENT HILL, and of course, our long-time fans of the series as well, will all take the opportunity to experience this game.” Okamoto concluded.
Silent Hill: The Short Message is out now exclusively on PlayStation 5.
