Publisher and developer Rebellion today revealed that upcoming third-person shooter Sniper Elite 5 will launch with a weapon customization system that gives players more control over how their loadout behaves in combat. The news was accompanied by a new trailer showing off some of the arsenal available to protagonist Karl Fairburne.
Sniper Elite 5 boasts “a comprehensive suite of weaponry with the most customisation and attachments ever seen in the franchise’s history,” according to the publisher.
Players can pick from more than 200 options, including scopes, suppressors, stocks, muzzle breaks, materials, as well as other parts. These are mainly unlocked by finding workbenches as you traverse the game’s levels.
Sniper Elite 5’s weapon customization system allows players to tweak their loadout and have it better suit their preferred playstyle.
Each part has a certain effect on the weapons’ four key stats – Power, Rate of Fire, Control, and Mobility. The first two might be the way to go if you favor approaching things stealthily, while the latter two make you more efficient if you don’t shy away from meeting your enemies head-on.
“Sniper Elite has always been defined by its authentic gunplay and we wanted to take that to the next level for Sniper Elite 5,” said Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley. “We have concentrated on enhancing the character and feel of our weapons, including the addition of an ‘Ironsights’ perspective for pistols and secondary weapons such as SMGs.”
Sniper Elite 5 is slated to launch on May 26 and headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. Check out its latest trailer below.
