Publisher and developer Rebellion today announced that Sniper Elite VR: Winter Warrior has locked down its release date to the end of November.
Developed in partnership with Just Add Water, the title puts us in the role of ‘the Partisan’, a former Italian resistance soldier reliving his memories of pushing the Nazis out of his homeland.
Sniper Elite VR: Winter Warrior
Sniper Elite VR: Winter Warrior launches with a full story campaign in which you’re tasked with tracking down and destroying “Nazi ‘wonder- weapons’” alongside those who plan on using them.
Two additional modes are also confirmed. Sniper Hunt is described as “an intense game of cat and mouse that pits you against expert Nazi snipers.”
It tasks us with taking out a patrol of enemy soldiers to lure out snipers, then relocating, collecting ammo, and preparing to do so again for our next target.
Last Stand is framed as a desperate defense against waves of enemies, prioritizing the gathering of weapons and ammunition, setting of traps, and, most importantly, a good aim.
Here is a list of key features, as shared by the publisher in an emailed press release:
- Riveting Campaign
- Hyper immersive gunplay
- Sniper Hunt pits you against expert Nazi sharpshooters
- Hold the line in Last Stand against ever increasing waves of enemies
- Authentic World War II weaponry
- Experience the brutality of X-Ray Kill Cam in VR
- Wide range of difficulty, comfort and control options, including sitting/standing
- Feel those bullets hit with ProTubeVR and bHaptics support
