Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 surpassed 2.5 million sales in its initial 24 hours of release, setting a record as the quickest-selling game from PlayStation Studios in PlayStation’s history.
It surpassed revered titles like God of War, The Last of Us, and Horizon Forbidden West, selling quicker than them and even its predecessor, Spider-Man 1, which debuted in 2018.

For Insomniac Games and Sony, the figures for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are very pleasing, especially considering its exclusivity to the PlayStation 5. It’s anticipated that the game won’t see a PC release for at least another two years.
Sony revealed the record-breaking sales figure on Twitter:
“Great news, Spidey fans, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the first 24 hours. Thanks for making this a high-flying launch!”

Released on 20th October, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has become one of the top-rated titles for developer Insomniac Games, as reflected by its scores on Metacritic.
