Publisher Slitherine today announced Starship Troopers - Terran Command, a PC strategy title based on the iconic 1997 movie.
Developed by The Artistocrats, studio known for the Order of Battle series and Commander: the Great War, Starship Troopers - Terran Command is currently scheduled to launch at some point in 2020.
Starship Troopers - Terran Command
“If you take one of the most iconic movies from the 90s and shape it into a strategy game of survival, that mixes classic real-time mechanics, tower defense and tactical deployment of units then you have ‘Starship Troopers - Terran Command’ in a nutshell”, said Iain McNeil, Development Director at Slitherine.
“Modern strategy games are fast-paced and they successfully blend unit management, survival, and captivating storytelling. Nothing is more suited to this type of gameplay than the Starship Troopers universe, where there is a continuous sense of danger and uncertainty”, he continued.
Starship Troopers - Terran Command’s campaign spans an entire planet, your choices and achievements on the battlefield affecting the way in which story and missions develop. You can choose to remain a loyal soldier of the Terran Dominion or become a Hero of the Federation.
Starship Troopers - Terran Command will throw virtually endless numbers of bugs your way and, as your numbers are quite limited, you’ll have to use tactics, chokepoints and terrain elevation to your advantage. True Line of Sight and True Line of Fire can also prove to be valuable tools in your arsenal, although you’re not the only one capable of surprise attacks.
Players will be able to expand and upgrade their arsenal by progressing through the game’s tech tree, while persistent leaders can be upgraded throughout the campaign and attached to units.
