Two years after State of Decay 2’s launch, developer Undead Labs continues to add new content to the game, expanding and reworking its systems. Update 30’s release date is the next major stop on its roadmap and we know know when we can expect to see it go live.
State of Decay 2’s Update 30 release date brings with it the Forever Communities feature, allowing players to create new communities using legacy survivors, alongside the very welcome sort function for the supply locker.
More will be packed into this major content drop and you’ll be happy to hear that it shouldn’t be long before we can get our hands on it.
In early May, developer Undead Labs confirmed that State of Decay 2’s Update 30 release date is currently slated for sometime in July. Prior to that, it will be available on the PTR, where players can test the Forever Communities feature and provide feedback on it.

Fans might have expected the Infestations feature – which has been on the PTR for a while now – to also arrive in update 30, however, it’s been moved to update 31. This comes as a result of its size, impact on the overall game, as well as the feedback received from players until now.
We’ll likely hear more about State of Decay 2’s update 30 release date over the coming months, as the developer closes in on when it’s ready for launch.
