Stray’s cybercity has its secrets, some of which happen to be safe codes required to obtain a few of the game’s collectibles.
There’s a chance you’ll bump into Stray’s safe codes while out exploring but in case you miss any, or want to be sure you’ve got them all, we’ve listed all the ones we’re aware of below. You can head right to the codes themselves if you’re in a hurry, or read through the entire process of finding them.
Stray Safe Mysterious Password
You’ll find the first safe in Stray by going past Morusque until you reach the dead end, then looking to your left. It’s next to a green dumpster. Approach it to loot the note containing its mysterious password. When B-12 examines it, however, you’ll learn that it’s written in binary code and you’ll need to find someone to decipher it.
To do so, head back, make a right as you reach the Guardian, and go down the stairs. Move past the Companion leaning against the vending machine, make a left, then a right, and immediately look to your right. You should see a red door with a note B-12 can translate. Approach it and scratch away.
A companion will let you inside. Head upstairs to find Elliot. Show him the note and he’ll tell you it reads “Duffer Bar,” which is where you’re headed to next. You can scratch at the window on his left to reveal a shortcut. Drop down, and enter the bar past just before you reach the Companion leaning against the vending machine.
Hop on the free stool to the left near the bar, then interact with the picture on the left. Doing so reveals what is actually the Stray Slums binary safe code: 1283. Return to the safe, unlock it, and you’ll get sheet music 8/8, which you can bring back to Morusque.

Stray Midtown Safe Code
The second Stray safe code is found in chapter 10, Midtown, and actually easier to obtain. As you enter the city, go forward, past the Companion getting apprehended, then up the stairs. After reaching the top, you’ll notice a Companion wearing a puffy white jacket, complaining to a merchant.
Approach him and jump inside the store. Go past the merchant, then take a right and look at the piece of paper on the wall. Translate it to get the Stray Midtown safe code.
Afterwards, hop on the small shelf near it and keep on going until you reach the safe at the top. Input the code you got earlier, only backwards: 8542. Loot the cat badge inside and you’re done.
