Publisher and developer FireFly Studios today revealed that Stronghold: Warlords, its upcoming strategy game, will launch with a bonus economic campaign.
Called Path of Peace, the economic campaign will be part of Stronghold: Warlords’ main story while shifting the focus from military conquest to castle building, resource gathering and feudal events.
Stronghold: Warlords Economic Campaign
“Players will have to make the most of Stronghold: Warlords’ new castle sim mechanics to battle against thinning food supplies, accidental gunpowder explosions, local bandits and revolt from their own peasants.”, reads a press release.
Stronghold: Warlords’ economic campaign will emphasize the peasant popularity rating system, requiring players to keep their kingdom’s backbone satisfied by building temples, hovels and farms. You’ll also be able to choose between different means of entertainment and torture devices.
Events will require players to adapt their strategies as they’re met with “monsoon rains, lightning storms, bandit attacks, wildfires, festivals, typhoons and more”.
The Scribe, a fan-favorite character, will also make an appearance in the six-mission-long economic campaign. Stronghold: Warlords is headed to PC, via Steam, later this year.
