Publisher and developer Nightmare Studios today announced another delay for upcoming cooperative horror game Surrounded, revealing that it its now set to “release before summer.”
Prior to being pushed back, Surrounded was slated to launch at some point during Q1 2023, a window which it ended up missing.
Surrounded Delay
“We want to address the delay of our highly anticipated horror game, Surrounded. We understand that this news may come as a disappointment to many of you who have been eagerly waiting for its release. We want to assure you that we are working tirelessly every day to get the game out to everyone as soon as possible,” the developer wrote in a Steam post.
“We apologize for not being as communicative as we should have been. We understand how important it is to keep you all updated on the progress of the game and to address any concerns you may have. We are incredibly sorry for everyone we’ve let down, but we are doing our best on a daily basis to keep working on this game. We are a small team, but we are getting there.”
The developer shared a handful of new screenshots and noted that it is currently “waiting on some third party assets,” before committing to the game’s new release window.
In case you’re out of the loop, Surrounded pits up to 6 players against different “variations of paranormal activities, strange sightings, and creatures capable of ending your life.”
The creatures inhabiting its sizeable open world react to the sounds they hear, which will hopefully translate to a tense experience.
Surrounded is headed to PC, via Steam, and you can get a glimpse of it in the trailer below.
