World of Warcraft’s patch 11.1.5 release date is now locked in to late April 2025, bringing with it a smaller offering of content that sees us continuing our fight against the Void-aligned forces. While we wait for patch 11.2, we’ll also face horrors from our past, some more animatronic than others.
Although smaller in scope, WoW’s patch 11.1.5 gradually introduces its content over the coming three months. Spacing things out like this might feel odd, but ultimately ensures that the new challenges don’t compete with each other for our time and attention while giving us new reasons to hop back in as the year progresses.
World of Warcraft The War Within Patch 11.1.5 Release Date
World of Warcraft’s patch 11.1.5 release date is currently set to occur on April 22, 2025, as revealed by Blizzard in a dedicated blog post.
- World of Warcraft patch 11.1.5 release date: April 22, 2025.
During the Week of April 22, we’ll join the new Flame’s Radiance faction to defend the Arathi against the Sureki forces, who suddenly find themselves without a queen.
Aiding this band of volunteer militia involves “being split between task forces within the Nightfall public scenario to clear the battlefield and push back the Sureki.”
In addition, battling Sureki forces in both Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet as well as completing designated quests and activities outside the Nightfall scenario also contributes to earning Renown on the faction’s dedicated ten-level track, earning us rewards.
They include “new armor sets, a tabard that will update visually as you progress through the ranks of the Flame’s Radiance, weapons, a new color variation of the Delver’s Dirigible, and more,” alongside buffs that empower characters fighting the good fight across Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet.
A new cooldown manager will also be added with WoW 11.1.5’s release date, allowing us to keep track of vital cooldowns and buffs in separate customizable HUD elements.
Between April 22 and May 20, the Winds of Mysterious Fortune buff grants 20% extra experience when taking characters from level 10 to 79.
The same buff provides +200% major faction renown in Dragonflight zones and +100% select major faction renown in The War Within zones, making it a good time to switch classes or get that alt you’ve been wanting to play for a while ready for the fight.
Lastly, while leveling in Dragonflight and The War Within Zones, Mysterious Satchels can drop, giving characters “a variety of fun and useful items that can grant temporary stat boosts or visual alterations.”
WoW 11.1.5 Dates | Content |
---|---|
April 22 | Nightfall, Cooldown Manager, Winds of Mysterious Fortune Buff |
May 20 | Horrific Visions Revisited |
June 3 | Dastardly Duos |
During the week of May 20, WoW’s patch 11.1.5 revisits the Horrific Visions challenges originally introduced in the Shadowlands expansion.
Whether solo or in a group, we’ll battle our way through corrupted versions of Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Anyone in need of extra help can call upon the AI-controlled Construct of Soridormi companion to join them as a tank, DPS, or healer, while being immune to the sanity mechanic.
Masks also make a return, adding extra challenges to runs, and we get to try out three new ones – the Mask of Vengeance, Mask of Multitudes, and Mask of the Nemesis.
Revisiting Horrific Visions in World of Warcraft’s patch 11.1.5 also lets us collect a new currency that we can spend to purchase both new and old rewards, including “mounts, toys, transmogs, weapon enchantments, and more.”
On June 3, WoW’s patch 11.1.5 deploys its final content offering, the Dastardly Duos six-week event that pits us against animatronic versions of bosses we’ve bested before. It allows us to unlock “a variety of cosmetics, toys, and even some dungeon items based on the bosses [we] encounter.”
Event hubs appear in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dornogal. The first week comes with four available bosses, each subsequent week introducing more, up to a total of ten, and paving the way for plenty of fighting.
That wraps up the key content updates coming our way when World of Warcraft’s patch 11.1.5 release date occurs. For more on the MMORPG, drop by our article covering whether or when we might expect a console version.
