Publisher Paradox Interactive today announced Surviving the Aftermath, the post-apocalyptic follow-up to their colony sim Survival Mars. Players will first be able to play it later this year, when it hits Early Access on the Epic Games Store and Xbox Game Preview.
By the sound of it, Surviving the Aftermath will take the colony sim gameplay that Surviving Mars introduced and place it in a post-apocalyptic scenario. Details were scarce, but more is said to come during this year's PDXCON.
Surviving the Aftermath Early Access Epic Games Store Exclusive
More exactly, the publisher will delve deeper into Surviving the Aftermath and what it has to offer on October 19 at 10:00 AM CEST during the PDXCON 2019 Announcement Show. If you can't make it to Berlin, fret not, as the event will also be broadcasted on the Paradox Interactive Twitch channel. The publisher will likely also reveal the developer behind the game then.
"With the staggering growth of Surviving Mars this year we knew we had something special and we wanted to find new ways to utilize survival management gameplay," Nikhat Ali, Lead Producer on Surviving the Aftermath and Surviving Mars at Paradox Interactive, said. "Surviving the Aftermath gives us the opportunity to experiment with these mechanics in new and interesting ways that we think our players will love.", he continued.
Players will be able to get their hands on Surviving the Aftermath "soon", when its Early Access incarnation arrives on the Epic Games Store and Xbox Game Preview. The full launch is slated for Late 2020 when the title will arrive on PC (both via the Epic Games Store and Steam), Xbox One and PS4.
Furthermore, Surviving Mars will be free on the Epic Games Store for a week, starting with October 10. Surviving the Aftermath's Early Access version marks the first time when a Paradox-published title is exclusive to Epic's storefront.
