Aliens: Fireteam Elite has now blasted its way onto our screens and, one week after launch, it’s already sporting a first set of mods that add missing and much-requested features while tweaking a thing or two.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite didn’t launch with official mod support but that didn’t stop crafty modders from adding means to change the game’s FOV (field of view), a much-requested option that didn’t make it in at launch, and more.
Modder gladias9 offers what’s currently the most comprehensive Aliens: Fireteam Elite mod, Aliens Tweaked. It lets players choose between several FOV options, making corpses in your line of sight stick around for longer, but also making the AI companions more viable on higher difficulties.
Xayjyn then tackles the visual side of things, removing features like chromatic aberration and film grain while adding whole screen shadows, true volumetric fog, HBAO, and more. You can find their mod, like the one above, on Nexus Mods.
Finally, deadjack’s mod is simpler, making Fireteam Elite’s camera angle resemble Gears of War’s.
We may see more Aliens: Fireteam Elite mods appearing as time passes and we’ll add the interesting ones to this here article. For more help with the game, check out what we know about crossplay and it coming to Xbox Game Pass.
