Today, Ubisoft confirmed that they are assembling a team to develop Tom Clancy’s The Division 3. The project will be headed by Massive Entertainment under the leadership of their newly appointed Executive Producer, Julian Gerighty.
Gerighty will make the transition to this role after Star Wars Outlaws, a game he’s currently overseeing as Creative Director, is released. The new role will see him supervise all products and games within The Division franchise, including Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.
When will Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 release?
Development of The Division 3 seems to be in its early stages. As such, we can assume that further details or a release date won’t be announced anytime soon.
“Julian’s dedication and understanding of the brand together with his extensive background in game development makes him a perfect match for the job of ushering in a new era of Tom Clancy’s The Division,” says Thomas Andrén, Managing Director at Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment studio.
“His ability to cultivate collaborative relationships will play a key role in Tom Clancy’s The Division’s future, with its nearly 40 million players across all titles.”
Gerighty will stay involved with the Star Wars Outlaws project up until its launch to guarantee the game aligns with the envisioned creative direction and delivers an exceptional experience for players on launch at some point in 2024.
“There are only a few games that I can genuinely say blew me away the first time I saw them, and Tom Clancy’s The Division is one of them. I was immediately hooked, like so many others who are part of our devoted player community,” said Julian Gerighty, Executive Producer of Tom Clancy’s The Division 3.
“It’s a privilege and an honor to be able to continue to build incredible and unforgettable experiences in this amazing world with the most talented teams around the world, and I can’t wait for what’s next.”
We can expect The Division 3 to be in development for the PC, Xbox Series X/S, and the PlayStation 5. We will keep you updated on its development.
