Publisher Ubisoft has announced that city builder The Settlers has been delayed “until further notice”. This is the second time the game is delayed after it missed its previous 2019 release date.
Ubisoft’s decision to push back The Settlers’ release date stems from fan feedback gathered “over the past few months”.
“[…] while performing playtests and diary studies, one thing became clear: while we are on the right path to deliver a great game, we really want to deliver an exceptional gaming experience.”, a post on the game’s website reads.
Ubisoft Delays The Settlers Release Date
“Since quality is our main priority, we want to take the time necessary to make it right. Therefore, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone the release of the game until further notice.”, it continues.
Ubisoft hasn’t provided a new release date for The Settlers.
Announced back at Gamescom 2018, the latest entry in the series runs on the publisher’s proprietary Snowdrop engine and looks to shake up things through the addition of a food system and a campaign that can be played both solo and in co-op.
While waiting for The Settlers’ new release date, you can sate your city building thirst by trying out Anno 1800. Not only was it an excellent game to begin with, but Ubisoft is also supporting it with new content for the second year in a row.
