The long-awaited reboot emerges from its latest delay with a new name and multiple improvements.
The Settlers: New Allies will launch with three playable modes. Its campaign follows the Elari – one of three playable factions alongside the Maru and the Jorn – as they flee their homeland in search for new territories to settle.

Skirmish lets up to eight players fight it out across 12 launch maps, supporting solo vs AI, co-op vs AI, and PvP matches.
Onslaught has been renamed to Hardcore and is ideal if you’re looking for a challenge. Using the same map pool as Skirmish, it applies “a wide range of modifiers and conditions” that increase difficulty.
Adaptation is the key to success but, if going at it alone isn’t working out, you can always call upon friends to brave its challenges together.
Slated to launch back in March 2022, The Settlers: New Allies was delayed indefinitely as developer Ubisoft Düsseldorf hunkered down to address the less than stellar feedback obtained from the game’s closed beta.
This has led to quite a few changes, including improved pacing and unit AI. Neutral camps protect the path to resources and between starting areas, which should make rushing a less viable strategy in the early game.
New shortcuts now help players get around the map quicker, while the game’s military units stand out more from each other both visually and in terms of abilities.
The Forester is also making its return, offering a steady supply of wood as long as you have the space to plop down the building.
You can check out the full list of changes in the video embedded. On top of that, the reboot will be showcased prior to launch in dedicated livestreams on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel. The first one is scheduled for December 1, between 3 and 4 PM GMT, covering the Skirmish mode.
The Settlers: New Allies’ PC release date is slated for February 17, 2023, when it arrives on the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect. The title is also set to arrive on Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, and Nvidia GeForce Now, marking a first for the series.
