When will Timberborn Update 7 be released? Timberborn developer Mechanistry has revealed the next update will be coming in May, and has detailed some of the features that will be added to the game.
Update 7 for the Early Access release of Timberborn will feature zip lines and tubeways, bringing new, faster ways for beavers to get around your lumberpunk metropolis. Both additions are highly customizable and easy to fit into your existing cities.

This update will also introduce 3D terrain and tunnels, following the previous update’s introduction of 3D water physics. This allows certain terrain blocks to be built on stackable buildings, and the terrain changes accommodate the creation of caves, tunnels, and other interesting landscaping features.
Finally, the new patch will also feature improvements to modding, making it easier for the community to create custom content and share it with others.
Update 7 will launch for Timberborn on May 8th, 2025. The game does not have a 1.0 release date yet, but it was launched into Early Access in September 2021. Since then, it has accrued a 95% Overwhelmingly Positive average review score based on over 28,000 reviews from the community.
When it entered the Steam Early Access program, Mechanistry expected the game to remain in this state for at least a year. The studio has not provided a new estimate since then, much to the concern of the community.
