Electronic Arts recent release of a host of previously Origin only games onto Steam has seen a resurgence in multiplayer content for many older titles. If you’ve just started Titanfall 2, you may be getting the age old Error Code 429 - Connection to Server Timed Out.
You have likely noticed this error around busy periods, and it usually resolves itself as the player numbers decrease. This error is completely on the server side of things, and is the result of EA not allocating enough server capacity during peak periods. It can also happen if the servers are down for maintenance, or if there’s a problem that might change the server status.

As a result, there’s nothing a player can do to get back into the game but keep trying and hope you’re one of the lucky ones who reach the front of whatever bogus queue exists to decide who can play. We do expect EA to expand on the servers as the player count continues to grow on Steam.
We’ll keep you posted about any Titanfall 2 server maintenance periods or alerts about the servers being down, which would result in Error Code 429 appearing.
