Update #1: Total War Saga: Troy mod support is now confirmed to officially launch on October 22.
Original: Total War Saga: Troy mod support missed its initial September release window but is coming “soon” to the Epic Games Store, according to developer Creative Assembly.
Ahead of the launch of Total War Saga: Troy’s official mod support, the developer has detailed how their installation works on Epic’s storefront.
Just like in the case of MechWarrior 5, players will find a new Mods section at the top of Troy’s Epic Store page which, when clicked, takes you to a page showing all the available player-made modifications.
Total War Saga: Troy Mods Installation
You’ll be able to search for Total War Saga: Troy mods using keywords, sort the existing ones by most installs, likes, publish date, or alphabetically. You can also use tags to find relevant picks.
Installing Troy mods is as simple as selecting them and clicking the Add to library button. This automatically downloads them and keep them updated overtime. Just make sure to read their description for potential conflicts.
You can then manage which mods are active from the Total War Launcher which automatically boots up when starting the game on the Epic Games Store.
Although the article detailing the process mentions Total War Saga Troy: mods being available now, that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least for us.
A tweet from the official Total War account also mentions them arriving “soon” but without giving a timeframe. We’re unsure how their delay affects the other items on the game’s 2020 roadmap.
That being said, users in the grand strategy game’s community have created quite a few mods for Total War Saga: Troy even in the absence of official mod support, which you can check out while waiting for its impending launch.
