Total War: Warhammer 3’s main antagonist is none other than Be’lakor, famed Daemon Prince whose plans you’ll fight to thwart as you play through the grand campaign. But what if we told you that you can unlock him as a playable legendary lord?
A lot of speculation went into whether or not Be’lakor would be a playable character in Total War: Warhammer 3 prior to launch and, while he doesn’t have his own faction and starting position akin to Kislev’s Boris Ursus, you can still make him your own legendary lord if you do one particular thing.
Total War: Warhammer 3 Be'lakor Legendary Lord
To get Be’lakor as a legendary lord, you need only to complete Total War: Warhammer III’s grand campaign by retrieving the four Daemon Prince souls, challenging the big bad at the Forge of Souls, and winning the fight.
After the final cutscene rolls, you should find him as a playable legendary lord next to your capital city. It’s worth mentioning that, in my case, this happened upon completing the campaign as the Daemons of Chaos race.
I’m not sure if every faction gets Be’lakor after defeating him in the final battle, but would expect at least those belonging to the four Chaos Gods to have access to him.
As a legendary lord, he starts by himself but you do have 20 skill points to spend across multiple trees. He can cast spells from the Lore of Shadows, a handful of unique abilities, but most of the improvements that are not part of the bottom administrative tree focus on making him better as a fighter rather than bolstering his army.
Although unlocking Be’lakor as a legendary lord in Total War: Warhammer III doesn’t let you start a fresh campaign playing as him – you can essentially only continue your “completed” campaign and/or go for the Domination victory – he is also usable in custom battles if you play as the Daemons of Chaos.
