Total War: Warhammer 3’s patch 4.0 brings another hefty serving of content to the grand strategy game, its release date being set to occur at the same time or close to the second DLC we’re getting in 2023, Shadows of Change.
Total War: Warhammer 3’s patch 4.0 release date acts as one more major step on the title’s roadmap for the year, after update 3.1 added a handful of tweaks and a free legendary hero.
Total War: Warhammer 3 Shadows of Change Patch 4.0

Although the developer hasn’t delved quite yet into specifics, we do have a short list of features that we can expect from the update.
Another free legendary hero is on the way, and eagle-eyed Reddit users might have uncovered his name.
A post points towards actor Richard Summers-Calvert’s IMDB page, which claims that he lent his voice to Aekold Helbrass.
As with all unconfirmed leaks, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt, but the Champion of Tzeentch would be a plausible addition, given how he would accompany a paid DLC that’s partly focused on the Chaos God’s race.
Immortal Empires achievements then give completionists more reasons to wrestle with the massive campaign.
In the first dev update focused on the upcoming patch, Creative Assembly confirmed that each playable race from the first two entries in the series alongside the trilogy’s newest race, the Chaos Dwarfs, are receiving two achievements.
One of them is awarded for completing the Immortal Empires campaign, another for completing it on the Very Hard or Legendary difficulty.
Immortal Empires campaigns will also start with missions that better guide players towards attacking the starting enemies when Total War: Warhammer III’s update 4.0 release date comes around.
The Battle Difficulty settings are getting an additional slider that allows us to control the bonuses received by the AI. Available in both campaign and custom battles, it should make for a more customizable experience.
In addition, the campaign map is getting several new landmark buildings.
Race updates are also planned and there’s also a good chance we’ll see a fair share of balance changes.
In addition, the campaign AI should receive some general improvements, while the efforts to make settlement battles better are also set to continue.
We expect to learn more about Total War: Warhammer 3’s patch 4.0 release date and the content it will introduce as the launch draws nearer.
