Publisher and developer Sernur.tech today announced that sci-fi roguelike Trigon: Space Story will make its way to PC this year.
Players will be able to try out and provide feedback on Trigon: Space Story when it enters Steam Early Access in Q4 2020.
Taking cues from titles like FTL, Trigon: Space Story blends exploring randomly generated galaxies with tactical ship combat and crew management.
Trigon: Space Story Steam Early Access
The title sees players taking control of a ship and its crew as they jump from node to node. During your travels, you’ll encounter space stations, derelict ships and deserted colonies, meet humans and alien races, as well as have free reins over how benevolent or evil a captain you want to be.
Exploration will inevitably lead to encountering various opponents who’ll want to take you down.
Trigon: Space Story’s ship-to-ship combat relies on using your vessel’s equipment in tandem with properly managing your crew and its abilities, ensuring they man relevant stations.
Direct damage can solve problems, but combat allows for more elegant solutions like destroying the enemy’s oxygen supply and seeing their crew suffocate or using your crew’s ultimate abilities to send boarding parties or take over opposing ships without damaging their cargo.
In between combat encounters you’ll be able to improve your ship and crew’s capabilities with new equipment like better shields or more oxygen alongside new abilities and perks.
Online co-op will also let you tackle the dangers of Trigon: Space Story’s galaxies alongside a friend.
Developer Sernur.tech expects Trigon’s Early Access stay to last between 1 and 2 years but aims to “take as much time as the game needs.”
You can follow and wishlist Trigon: Space Story on Steam ahead of its Early Access launch and check it out in action in the trailer below.
