Tunic has appeared and fallen off the radar repeatedly since it was originally announced all the way back in 2017, but as the middle of March 2022 approaches, so does its imminent launch. The gaming landscape has, however, shifted since its announcement and, with subscription services now in the spotlight, players are wondering if the title might make it to Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart.
Tunic’s charm comes not just from its colorful visuals and diorama-inspired aesthetic, but also the prospect of playing as a cute small fox that sets off on a big adventure. As you journey across the land, you also reconstruct the game’s instruction manual, uncovering new tips and getting a shot of nostalgia if you count yourself among older gamers. Here’s what we know about the game’s presence on PC Game Pass.
Tunic Xbox Game Pass
Prior to launch, it didn’t seem that Tunic was headed to Xbox Game Pass or the service’s PC version. Publisher Finji confirmed as much back in January, responding to a fan’s tweet.
The month’s batch of announced Xbox Game Pass additions also didn’t include any mention of the game, but on March 16, subscribers were in for a nice surprise.
- Tunic Xbox/PC Game Pass status: Available on day one
As Tunic launched, it was confirmed to be available on both Xbox Game Pass and its PC counterpart. If you’re subscribed to either, you can play the game without having to opt for a traditional purchase.
The title launched to widespread praise from critics, so it’s certainly great to see players having more options in terms of how they join Tunic’s small fox protagonist on its adventure.
