Ubisoft has confirmed that it will no longer attend E3 2023, despite announcing its presence at the returning physical event earlier last month.
The company will, instead, host its own Ubisoft Forward Live event in Los Angeles on June 12.

The publisher told VGC that it has decided to “move in a different direction” and host its own event, joining Xbox and Nintendo as yet another major player in the industry that decides to skip the event.
“E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years,” a spokesperson told the website.
“While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”
E3 2023 marks a return for the physical event after four years of absence. Although it is set to take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, like prior editions, this year’s edition is organized by ReedPop, who takes the reins from the Entertainment Software Association.
As it currently stands, no major company has officially announced its presence at the event, whose Digital Week starts on June 11, with showcases like The PC Gaming Show, Guerilla Collective, and more.
E3 2023’s revamped physical format sees its first two days (June 13 and June 14) dedicated exclusively to members of the industry, with the remaining two (June 15 and June 16) also welcoming the general public. You can learn more about the event on its website.
