Zoochosis is an upcoming indie survival horror simulation game set in a Zoo. The game revolves around a zookeeper working the night shift where something terrifying is unfolding; The animals in the zoo are going through bizarre mutations, potentially due to an infection, transforming them into mutant creatures.
The game takes influence from the classic horror film ‘The Thing’, but instead of an Antarctic research station, the eerie events unfold within the confines of a zoo.
What’s the planned release date for Zoochosis?
Zoochosis is due to be released on 23rd September 2024, and we don’t think there’s going to be an early access period, but we have contacted the developers to find out. This is Clapperhead’s second project, following their initial project, the Sparky Marky episodes available on Steam.
Players will need to keep watch of the animals in the Zoo, using tools to see if they’ve been infected, preparing meals for the animals, cleaning up the pens, and destroying any that become infected. Hopefully, you can find a cure and develop a vaccine before the animals morph into mutants.
It looks like a variety of animals, including zebras, gorillas, hippos, giraffes, elephants, kangaroos, and more, will be featured in Zoochosis.
Currently, it’s slated as a single-player game, as indicated on its Steam page. There are no multiplayer modes announced. However, the game is designed with multiple endings for replayability.
The decisions players make throughout the game will influence the outcome, leading to different ending scenarios.
Zoochosis wasn’t mentioned for other platforms and will be released for the PC via Steam. We should see it out on the 23rd of September.
