Were you put off getting Vampyr because of the combat? Would you prefer to play a version more focused on story like Life Is Strange, or even with tougher Dark Souls-like combat? Well the Vampyr Patch with the easier Vampyr Story Mode and Vampyr Hard Mode are out now. We've got the full Vampyr Patch Notes for Update 3 below.
We certainly enjoyed Vampyr when it came out, but we definitely noted that too much of the game revolved around the combat, which wasn't that fun anyway. Now players will have a chance to enjoy the story more, or even treat the game as a more story-orientated Bloodborne, which should be fun too.
The new gamemods for Vampyr were announced in July and they're here now. Story Mode makes combat less of a focus so players can concentrate on the narrative, characters, exploration and missions. Hard Mode on the other hand sounds like it'll make the game closer to Dark Souls or Bloodborne for people who really enjoyed the combat:
"Hard Mode makes combat much more difficult. Players will receive less experience from killing enemies too, forcing them to rely even more on embracing citizens to grow in power."
Players can still choose 'Normal Mode' to play Vampyr in the usual way, and the update also adds a load of fixes to make it more enjoyable. See below for the full details.
