Vampyr may just be getting a TV show soon! It would seem that FOX21, the television company behind such shows as are Sons of Anarchy, Homeland, and - yes- Malcom in the Middle, have secured the rights to produce a TV iteration of DONTNOD's red-running RPG.
This has stemmed from a similar partnership which formed around DONTNOD's previous critically-acclaimed release - Life is Strange, the television adaptation of which will be headed by DJ2 Entertainment.
“We believe it is a fantastic premise for a television show. This is a new and exciting way for fans of the game, as well as the uninitiated, to enter and engage with VAMPYR’s rich, deep story. We cannot wait to see how the talented team at FOX21 will bring out the darkly atmospheric universe of our game into television," said the CEO of DONTNOD, Oskar Guilbert.
Of course, there's no word yet on what sort of events would the hypothetical TV show feature, though it's certainly early to share any of that information yet, from the producer's perspective.
Though there's no correlation between the upcoming Vampyr TV show and Penny Dreadful, the wasted potential of the thematically similar older show is pretty difficult to ignore. Any case, FOX21 have shown themselves to be capable, so let us hope their realisation of Vampyr turns out solid!
