M2H and Blackmill games have announced that World War 1 first-person shooters Verdun and Tannenberg will get a free weekend starting tomorrow, June 17.
Verdun and Tannenberg’s free weekend will last until Sunday, June 20, is available across all platforms, and celebrates the launch of the two titles’ PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.
There will be no restrictions, as far as content goes, during the free weekend. If you’ve yet to try out the two WWI shooters, now’s the time to get a taste of their take on trench warfare and how methodical, but also chaotic it can be. Aside from everyone having free access to them, both titles will also be discounted by 60%.
“Following years of free updates, there are more than 10 nations represented across the two games, from major combatants like Germany, France, Britain, Russia and the USA to smaller countries like Romania and Belgium,” the publisher explains in an emailed press release.
“Every squad has their own choice of loadouts, so playing as a U.S. Doughboy or Russian Cossack is very different to fighting as an ANZAC or a Senegalese Tirailleur.”
Unfortunately, Verdun and Tannenberg’s free weekend won’t be available in Germany, “due to rating-pricing restrictions.” Check out its trailer below.
