Publisher and developer Fatshark has revealed that Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s Season 3 is on its way, its start date being slated for a bit over a week from now.
Vermintide 2’s Season 3 will shake up the first-person slasher’s level by introducing weather variations and, more importantly, its first post-launch hero career in the shape of the melee-focused Grail Knight.
Season 3 will also reshuffle Winds of Magic’s Weaves. Anyone interested can tune in to developer Fatshark’s Twitch channel on June 18 at 17:30 PM CEST/16:30 PM BST/8:30 AM PT for a pre-launch discussion on all the upcoming features which we’ve detailed below.
Vermintide 2 Season 3 Start Date
Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s Season 3 start date is currently set for Tuesday, June 23, making the wait rather short. That’s when all the new features and reshuffled Weaves will go live, making it a good time to hop back in if you’ve put the game aside for a while.
Vermintide 2 Grail Knight
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is also receiving its first post-launch premium hero Grail Knight career during Season 3. Players will be able to transform Markus Kruber into a Bretonnian knight with new skins, talent tree, weapon types and abilities.
The Grail Knight will be entirely melee-focused and able to wield at least a longsword as well as a sword and shield. The career will be purchasable from both Lohner’s Emporium of Wonders and Steam, being priced on the latter at 3,49€ or your regional equivalent.
Vermintide 2 Weather Variations
Weather variations are the first new addition coming to Warhammer: Vermintide 2 once Season 3 kicks off, aiming to shake up outdoor levels.
The feature makes it so that every outdoor level will have a chance to change their light and weather from clear to rain, snow or fog. We don’t yet know if these changes will be purely cosmetic or if they’ll also affect visibility.
Vermintide 2 Shilling and Premium Cosmetics
Season 3 will also introduce both new cosmetic items to Lohner’s Emporium. The first set – containing only shilling cosmetics – will be introduced at launch.
Another set, which will treat players to both shilling and premium cosmetics, is set to arrive at some point in early July.
“We have mentioned earlier that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will continue to be supported for years to come, and we still hold to that. We will continue to expand on the existing Vermintide 2 universe and bring you new co-op challenges, experiences and exciting new adventures for the Ubersreik 5.”, Fatshark said in conclusion of the post announcing Season 3’s release date.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and its Winds of Magic expansion are now available now on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
