Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is the follow-up to 1998’s classic strategy game and one of 2022’s most anticipated titles among turn-based tactics enthusiasts.
Published by Frontier Foundry and developed by Complex Gates, its release date is slated to occur during a period that doesn’t seem to be all that crowded, giving us plenty of time to recover from February and March’s madness before saving the Tyrtaeus sector.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters trades the first game’s Ultramarines for the mysterious Grey Knights chapter. When its release date comes around, we’ll be able to take control of these potent psykers and fight to stop the spread of a plague called the Bloom.

As you can probably tell, the Grey Knights will end up clashing with Nurgle’s forces and need to manage the spread of the plague both at a strategic and tactical level.
From your cruiser, you can plan your moves, assessing the current level of spread and deciding where you’ll strike next. The ship also lets you recruit and customize new warriors, belonging to multiple classes, gain advantages through research, and more.
At the tactical level, you’ll put your Knights weapons and abilities to good use in turn-based battles that reward a more offensive playstyle. You can smash through walls and pillars, bringing them down on top of enemies, displace them from cover, or just blow it up using grenades.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters’ release date was shrouded in mystery for a good few months, but the publisher has now confirmed that its PC launch is scheduled to occur on May 5.

If the game has been on your radar for a while, it’s also worth noting that pre-orders are also now live on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Purchasing the game prior to launch gives you two bonus in-game items: the ancient tome Domina Liber Daemonica alongside the Destroyer of Crys’yllix Daemonhammer. Both can be equipped by any of your Grey Knights.
The game’s standard edition will set you back £34.99/$44.99/€44.99. If you opt for the more expensive Castellan Champion Edition – priced at £44.99/$54.99/€54.99 – you’ll also receive Castellan Garran Crowe as an exclusive playable character joining your strike force partway through the campaign, alongside the game’s soundtrack composed by Doyle W. Donehoo.
