Warhammer 40K as a retro shooter? I’m not even the biggest fan of Warhammer and I know that’s a tasty concoction. Thankfully, Focus Interactive and Auroch Digital are here to help with Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.
Announced during the Games Workshop Skulls Showcase, Boltgun joins the likes of DUSK, Turbo Overkill, and Ion Fury in embracing 90s shooters’ love of pacy violence, and implementing their distinct, chunky visuals, bunny-hopping traversal, and rockin’ soundtrack.

In Boltgun, we’ll be placed in the armour of a rough n’ ready space marine as they tool up to blast Chaos Space Marines and Daemons alike into flurries of pixely claret. Even if I hadn’t seen the trailer I’d be like ‘sign me up’, but I have, and it only solidifies my enthusiasm.
Warhammer 40K: Boltgun is due to release in 2023 on PC and all modern consoles.
