Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader’s Cassia Orsellio counts among the companions you can recruit to fight at your side during the RPG’s lengthy campaign. Although she’s not part of your retinue right away, you can reach her location early in your playthrough.
As you begin Chapter 1, following Rogue Trader’s turbulent prologue, you gain the ability to explore a section of the Koronus Expanse, which includes an orbital station named Eurac V. Not only is that a key part of your efforts of securing a new navigator for your voidship, but it is also the location where you can recruit Cassia Orsellio to your party.
How to Recruit Cassia Orsellio in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader
The station has a quest chain which you’ll need to complete before you reach her. After you first encounter Felek Orsellio, you’ll need to power the nearby elevator and obtain a Control Rod.
This involves going further into the station, dealing with a pack of enemies, and interacting with two consoles. The one that powers the elevator can be reached by exploring the path accessible via a small door on the right side of the main hall where you’ll end up in a fight.
The second, which allows you to obtain the control rod is in the same room as the devices involved in the lab puzzle, which rewards consumable items which can prove useful further down the line.
With the elevator powered and control rod in your possession, you’ll need to head back to Felek Orsellio. If you’ve followed the dialog so far and read through the notes and terminal entries spread across the station, you’re aware that things are rather chaotic.
Before using the elevator, you’ll have to decide if you trust Felek Orsellio or not. This is one of many instances where you can opt for different approaches.
During our playthrough, we decided to let him know that he doesn’t strike us as all that trustworthy, which triggered a rather difficult combat encounter.
Felek is accompanied by several soldiers, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find cover that protects against all attacks.
Making good use of Idira’s staff-based Lightning Arc and similar area-of-effect abilities against clumped-up foes while having Adelard focus on Felek himself saw us winning the battle with two party members going down.
With that out of the way, taking the elevator brings you close to Theobald Orsellio and Cassia Orsellio’s actual location. Much like the above encounter, recrutiing her to the Rogue Trader’s party can likely be done in a few different ways.
What worked for us is using the Persuasion-associated dialog choice that lets her know we’re there to help during the very first dialog. This instantly takes her out of her unnatural trance. From there, we aimed for the following:
- Maintaining a polite tone
- Siding with Theobald when his dispute with Felek is brought up
- Asking Cassia to join us
- Assuring her that her servants on the station have a place on our voidship
After leaving Eurac V, she can be found on the ship and will happily join the Rogue Trader on missions as a regular party member. She starts with the Navigator origin and the Officer archetype, neatly complementing your starter roster.
That covers reaching Cassia Orsellio’s location in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and recruiting her to your party.
