Original: Publisher and developer Fatshark is celebrating Vermintide’s fifth anniversary this week, giving players a chance at grabbing a free hat, participating in a community challenge and more.
Starting up Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and completing a mission between October 21 and October 25 will automatically add the Obese Megalodon hat to your in-game collection.
Until November 1, players can also participate in the Vermintide fifth anniversary community challenge that tasks them with slaying 555,555,555 enemies in Vermintide 2.

Once a pactsworn no longer counts among the living, that kill will be added to the tally, regardless of platform or whether or not you successfully complete the level.
Should the community succeed in killing 555,555,555 foes, Fatshark will reward them with two triple XP weekends in Warhammer: Vermintide 2.
Should players fail but reach 300,000,005 enemies killed, they’ll still get one triple XP weekend for their effort. You can keep track of how close the challenge is to completion using this handy counter.
The developer will also host a livestream on October 23 – the day when the original Vermintide launched – where it will take a trip down memory lane.
Vermintide’s fifth anniversary also brings with it discounted bundles of cosmetic items on Steam. You can grab the the Unhinged, Heroes, Hearth & Home, and Wanderlust hat bundles for the discounted price of $5 or your regional equivalent.
There’s also a hat bundle that bundles together all three bundles, if you’re looking for a bigger infusion of style when hunting Skaven.
Since launch, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has reached the 8 million players milestone. Although developer Fatshark is working on a new co-op game, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, it has reinforced its commitment to Vermintide 2.
