Hunt Showdown emerges on the other side of its Serpent Moon event with news of an arsenal of fresh content for the multiplayer shooter on the Louisiana horizon.
During a live stream, developers spoke to Crytek’s Social Media Manager Bence Hamos about some of the things arriving in the next update, which will be Patch 1.10. It’s got some small tweaks, but also some intriguing new additions as well.
Hunt Showdown Patch 1.10 Release Date
There’s no set date for the Hunt Showdown 1.10 update just yet, but it seems likely to drop in early October.
Firstly, the maps. They will feature brand new spawn points and a spawn system that prevents teams from spawning too close together.
Both maps are getting small changes to the environment. Stillwater Bayou’s Alice Farm will be given a small island by the river to give players a bit more cover in an otherwise open area. At the Darrow Livestock building, there will be hay bales near the roof for easier roof access, and the roof itself will feature more openings for the building.
On the Lawson Delta map, the roofs of the Iron Works now have connecting platforms, while Nicholls Prison has had design tweaks inside and out to make it easier for players to navigate.
One of the bigger new things in the update will be the introduction of a new questline system. Questlines will feature various stages to complete and the rewards (including weapon charms) will be obtained via stars that help players unlock further quests.
A new consumable was also announced. Hunt is getting a drone of sorts in the form of the Stalker Beetle. Players can throw the bug into the air and have it survey the area with permanent darksight. It can also be used as a ping of the general area if sacrificed, albeit with a risk of exposure.
Beyond that, there’s a bunch of new items, fresh fixes, and nudging of numbers to be done. This is only the tip of the iceberg for now as Crytek will release full patch notes in the run-up to the update.
