Avowed’s February 2025 launch brings the highly-anticipated RPG to both PC and Xbox Series X/S, leaving those of us who primarily game on Sony’s latest console (or its Pro counterpart) wonder when it will release on PlayStation 5.
What once would have been a very silly question to ask is now actually legitimate, given how Microsoft has begun slowly releasing some of its first-party titles on Sony’s platform. Two of Obsidian Entertainment’s smaller games, Grounded and Pentiment, count among those that have released on PS5.
Avowed PS5 Release
At the time of writing, however, Avowed does not currently have a PS5 release date, which makes it fairly safe to assume that it won’t make its way to the platform when it first launches.
- Avowed PS5 release: Not confirmed yet
Although Microsoft has not committed to bringing all of its games to competing platforms – certainly not when they initially launch –, the company’s shift away from relying on console exclusives could still see the RPG becoming available for Sony fans at a later point in time.
As is the case of PlayStation games coming to PC, this could be anywhere from several months to several years. Without an official announcement, however, it’s tough to estimate when it might happen.
Avowed’s initial reception may also influence when or if it will get a PS5 release date, but that’s pure speculation on our part. We’ll keep an eye out for more details on the matter over the coming weeks and months.
That covers what we know about when Avowed might be coming to PlayStation 5.
